“I draw inspiration from life’s everyday moments.

There is extraordinary magic in what seems like the ordinary.”

Photographing people cooking in their kitchens is a wonderful, joyous and magical process that makes my heart sing. The kitchen provides a very specific environment to connect with another human being, journey through their stories, gain insight into their world, and learn from them. I always walk away from a kitchen with much more than food and photographs.

Photographing someone transform ingredients into a meal to eat and share, excites me far more than photographing a plate of food! Which is why I never refer to myself as a ‘food photographer’. The things I enjoy capturing most are people cooking their treasured family recipes, hands displaying their skills, portraits of people while they’re cooking, the emotions of people sharing food together, and ultimately, people’s stories. I photograph for cookbooks, families, people, chefs, restaurants and organisations. The photographic projects that I work on aim to capture the power that food and story have to inspire, strengthen and celebrate human connection.
